Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take?
We recommend starting out with eight sessions, which seems to be about the right amount of working together to choose and pursue at least one foundational goal that will make a difference in your life. After that, you will decide if you’d like to continue working with your coach to meet other goals. It’s pay-per-session and you decide how long you’d like to work with your coach!
How do I pay for coaching?
Coaching is mainly a self-pay structure at this point. Reading below you will see that new codes have been approved and soon will be able to be used with insurance plans. Right now, you may be able to use your HRA (Health Reimbursement Account), FSA (Flexible Spending Account) or HSA (Health Savings Account) with a letter of medical necessity from your doctor. In any of these options, self-pay for coaching is more affordable than therapy. We’ll work with you to find a way!
How do I know this is legitimate?
Inter-Resilience only employs coaches who have been trained by a NBHWC-approved certification program. NBHWC stands for the National Board for Health and Wellness coaching.
In 2016, the NBHWC began working with the National Board of Medical Examiners (nbme.org) to establish a board certification examination, which has since certified more than 8,400 health & wellness coaches. The National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coaching community is composed of trained, educated coaches, who are passionate about working with patients and clients for better health and well-being outcomes.
In 2019, the American Medical Association granted category III CPT codes for health & wellness coaching. To learn more, click here.
WHAT IF I DECIDE I WOULD BENEFIT FROM THERAPY IN ADDITION to OR INSTEAD OF COACHING?
We have relationships with licensed therapists and counselors locally and across the country. We will be happy to share contact information and descriptions. Many clients will choose therapy for treating any underlying trauma or illness before, after or at the same time as coaching to accelerate work on what they are learning in therapy. It’s a great team approach!
