Pulling much of the focus from positive psychology, Health and Well-Being coaching helps people move along the mental wellness continuum from Languishing or Moderate Mental Health to Well-Being and Flourishing. The absence of a mental illness or disorder does not mean we are thriving. Emotional health IS part of our whole-person health!
Health and Well-Being Coaching is not therapy. While there may be some overlap in focus areas, licensed therapists diagnose and treat illness - focusing primarily on what’s wrong. That’s great, we need that when we need it! Positive psychology, often applied through well-being coaching, focuses primarily on what’s strong - to address current challenges - helping clients set and reach health and well-being goals.
Emotional well-being helps us do better in any other treatment we receive. Coaching can help therapy and therapy can help coaching! In coaching, we might reference what pain or frustration has brought you to coaching, and then move forward to pursue goals you set based on your coach guiding a process where you discover how your optimal physical and emotional health are tied to your own vision and values - what matters to you most now, and in the future.

Groups help us hear ourselves and each other in a setting where there is support and co-learning.
Facilitated to be focused on steps to achieving our own personal goals, we learn from each others’ successes and challenges, and widen our perspective to apply ideas to our own situations.
Support group settings empower us, connect us to others, and are a great way to feel energized towards our personal goals while helping others and being helped!
